As promised on IRC, i've tested this patch with a R6220 and can confirm it fixes the issue.

Regarding the scope of the patch, i would propose to "play it safe" and only
apply the fix to NAND and the (single?) known broken SPI-NOR boards. Sadly I
was too late to the party when the discussion was going on via IRC.
