[OpenWrt-Devel] Issues with MTD parsing in absence of rootfs - Proposed patch, advice please

I presume this will need to be a patch that creates a numbered patch in
either:
    target/linux/generic/patches-3.14
or:
    target/linux/brcm47xx/patches-3.14
Any guidance please on which and what number to use?

Is the patch you sent me a patch against 3.18?
