Same on mine (except I have an eth1 which is the 10/100 that works
OK):-
root at OpenWrt:~# swconfig dev eth0 show
Failed to connect to the switch. Use the "list" command to see which switches are available.
root at OpenWrt:~# swconfig list
Found: switch0 - ag71xx-mdio.0
Found: switch1 - eth1
root at OpenWrt:~#
